Hey guys, or whoever's out here,
I'll be going to college next year and, while I do have money saved up, I'm probably graduate school-bound too. Luckily for me, I won't be 18 until the month after summer ends. I know you have to be 18 to serve alcohol, as well as operate a cash register (at least, according to my BooksAMillion), so that rules out most of the classic jobs. I know a lot of you have been through this before, the whole first-time job search business, so any advice or suggestions about where to apply would be awesome. Not to be narcissistic or anythingg, but I am more qualified than your average high school graduate. My high school is the top in my state. It's the magnet school of magnet schools and a member of the "National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology" (yes, I did just wiki my high school). Also, it's a public boarding school, so I must be reasonably mature to handle living away from home, right? Still, I don't have that vital birth date.
Also, I have some experience. I've worked at a trade show, talking to customers. I actually only read the catalog, but my parents work in the business, so I've been raised hearing about lots of it. Still, the learning curve was kinda crazy. And last summer, I did 300 hrs of volunteer service in the marketing department of a nonprofit. 60 hrs were a graduation requirement and they offered to pay me afterwards, but I think the tons of hours are what got me into college. :p I could go back there, but I'd really like a variety of experiences, y'know? I need education, please...
